"Dear Minister, Dear Head of the EU Task Force for Greece,
Dear colleagues and friends,
It is my honour to welcome you to the event organised
by the Centre of Enterprises of Public Interest CEDEO. At this specific moment of
economic and political turbulence, most of the Public sector agencies have attracted
the attention of the public opinion in a
negative way.
These very agencies are in fact the backbone of the
Greek economy and they contribute effectively to the growth of our country.
In my authority as President of CEDEO, I would like to
sincerely thank our distinguished speakers, Mr Filippos Sachinidis and Mr Horst
Reichenbach. Both of them have accepted our invitation, despite their busy
schedules,
in order to involve our members in a rewarding discussion
on the future of public sector agencies.
This is the very first in a series of high-level events
to be organised by CEDEO. Our main concern is to inform our members on best
practice examples and argue on the day-to-day common pressing issues we face
as the top management of public sector in Greece.
Our goal is to enhance the profile of public sector
agencies and focus on specific and implementable courses of action, in a combined
effort to exit the current crisis.
After all, it is the responsibility if not the duty of
public sector to be part of a strategy for the return to a sustainable development
path.
In this difficult yet challenging timing for our
country, I am sure that both speakers will stimulate an interesting debate on pragmatic
options and will help us understand how the public sector can become the main
catalyst for growth!
I thank you once again for your attendance and we hope
to see your active participation in all future events of CEDEO".
